CU Anthropology Club
I have been an active member in this club since the fall of 2024, where I found not only my deeper passion for anthropology, but also my love for this wonderful group of people. Having served as the club’s Vice President during the 2026-27 school year, inclusivity and curiosity were always at the forefront of what became our shared mission to enlighten and intrigue Clemson students within and out of the Clemson Anthropology department through interactive talks on the State of Anthropology and even that of the Native American tribes in SC. We deeply valued the emic perspective of the groups discussed, which was highlighted in our choice of topics and guest speakers, such as the Vice Chief of the Wassamassaw Tribe of SC.
English Language Pairs
Having been a member of this club since fall of 2023, I have helped tutor international students from Nepal, China, Japan, & Singapore. However, what I have cherished most have been the intercultural discoveries, diversities, joys, and relationships forged out of celebrating our linguistic, cultural and other differences.
SC ECCA Advocacy
Invited by members of the SC Early Childhood Common Agenda in the summer of 2025, I met with the office of US. Congressman James C. Clyburn to provide anthropological and linguistic insight into the advantages of providing our SC youth earlier foreign language education. Alongside mothers, community activists, and politicians, I was able to be a part of discussions surrounding accessible childcare, food security, and early childhood education. Such an opportunity as this has been invaluable as it gave me the platform to not only speak on such issues relating to my education and research, but also to use my knowledge in advocating for culturally relevant and meaningful policy changes. Since this meeting, I have become a member and continue to advocate for the rights of our youngest members of society.
